Football - Ramsen Golpashin

My name is Ramsen Golpashin (#70) and I am a senior offensive lineman at the University of Oregon. I am from Southern California, where I grew up in the Los Angeles suburb of Santa Clarita. I attended Saugus High School, where I played football. Upon graduation, I decided to attend the University of Oregon where I study Business Administration and play football for the Ducks. As a Redshirt Freshman, I appeared in two games, vs. Utah State and vs. Oklahoma State in the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl.
In 2009 season 10 my team won 10 games and became the Pac-10 Conference Champions where we played Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. In 2010 season 11 I appeared in 12 of 13 games blocking for Heisman Trophy candidate Lamichael James. The Ducks went on to win 12-0 repeated as the Pac-10 Champions and played Auburn for the BCS National Championship in Glendale Arizona. We unfortunately lost the big game but we are looking forward to regrouping and coming back strong in 2012, which will be my senior season. I am projected to start as a right guard for our season kick off at the beginning of September in Dallas Cowboys Stadium against LSU.
Football is a great sport that I recommend to any young person. If you are a competitive person that thrives in pressure and tough challenges, there is no greater sport than football. You will not only test yourself physically, but mentally as well. Playing football, especially at the college level is not an easy task. It requires great time management skills, as well as a certain level of physical and mental capability.
The blood, sweat, and tears you put in to making yourself a great player hurt during the process, but the feeling of sprinting out of the tunnel to 60,000 screaming fans makes the experience all the more worth it. You learn lessons, habits, and discipline while playing football that will last you a lifetime. If you decide to accept the challenge of playing football, go into it with a strong desire to succeed and have no regrets, and I guarantee it will be a great experience.
